At the eastern end of this bay is one of Newquay's best known landmarks - The Island. This is now a tea garden but for a long time was a private residence. It is reached by a suspension bridge modelled on the Clifton Bridge. A firm family favourite as the beach closest to the town centre and often referred to as "Town Beach". The Sealife Centre is located on the promenade.

Lying just below the Killacourt and Beach Road. Situated right next to the harbour. From the centre of Newquay take the road down to the beach.
