![]() A wide sandy bay backed by sand dunes. The bay takes its name from an ancient cave at the north end of the beach in which there is a spring that emerges from the ground. This spring is believed to have been a holy well. Access Holywell Bay is about 16 miles from Truro and 6 miles from Newquay. The beach is a five minute walk from Holywell village. Swimming & Surfing Suitable for swimming & surfing. Surf boards available for hire. Watch out for strong currents, large surf and strong winds. Areas of the beach can be cut off quickly as the tide comes in. Facilities RNLI Lifeguard service May 21st to September 25th Toilets in Holywell village, beach shop, takeaway and pub in Holywell village. Parking Car park with 400 spaces.
