Harlyn is a wide, sandy bay with a reputation as one of the "safer" beaches. It is popular with families and surf schools. The beach is backed by low cliffs and characterised by low tide, sand banks and steep high tide shelf which creates a shore break.
From the Newquay to Padstow road (B3276) turn off onto minor road signposted Harlyn (about 2½ miles west of Padstow).
