A wide but sheltered sandy beach that looks out across the Doom Bar in the Camel Estuary to Hawkers Cove and Harbour Cove. It is bordered by dunes and sandhills and backed by Brea Hill.
The horse riding scenes with Jenny Agutter and Donald Sutherland in The Eagle has Landed were filmed in these sand dunes and on Brea Hill behind.
In the graveyard of St Enodoc church, behind the dunes, is the grave of Sir John Betjeman.
