Watergate Bay

A large expanse of fine golden sand at the foot of steep cliffs, this beach is very popular but rarely overcrowded. At low tide the beach is two and a half miles long and it is possible to walk all the way to Newquay. There are rock pools for the children to play in as well as designated safe swimming areas in the sea.
The Extreme Sports Academy is based at Watergate Bay, providing surfing, power kiting, buggying and kite surfing. There are regular events and championships at Watergate including the Relentless Boardmasters in August.
